WHY?
God’s Word teaches us the value of generosity, love, and using our unique gifting to love others well and honor God.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community! It is also a wonderful way to express gratitude and strengthen our faith by fulfilling one of our greatest callings—to love our neighbors as ourselves. Through service, we can spread the love of Christ and be a light to the people of San Diego.
Not only is volunteering a great way to serve the community, but it is also a great way to build connections with other Compass members. By regularly spending time together participating in shared interests, we are able to foster deeper friendships as we work toward a common goal.
Through Compass Cares, we will be able to reach many different pockets of our community. Our hope is to continue to do our part to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our community by partnering with other local organizations and churches.

Role
- Participate in outreach events when available
- Show up on time for scheduled events that you have committed to
- If part of the R225 (Foster Support) Team partnering with YMCA Kinship Program:
- Once a request is accepted in Care Portal, either Jessica Worcester or Amanda Dove will purchase the gift card for the recipient. You may be invited along.
- You will partner with Amanda or Jessica to coordinate a time to meet with the recipient to drop off the gift card
- Offer to pray over them and invite them to church if you have an opportunity to!
